Before you start
You need permission to edit the lead, a contact with an email address, and a mailbox you can send from. The lead composer has saved drafts. Sending queues a message with a 30-second Undo window. Permission to send from Inbox is also checked before queued delivery.
Prepare and save the draft
- Open the lead and choose Write email, or Email beside a contact. Select the intended recipient and sending mailbox.
- Write the subject and message yourself, or set the goal, playbook and language and choose Write first draft.
- Use Ask Sidekick or Rewrite from brief for revisions if useful. On mobile, choose Back to email to review the editor again.
- Check names, claims, prices, dates, recipients and the mailbox. Choose Save draft and wait for it to save if you want to return later. AI-generated text remains a draft until you send it.
Send and check the next step
- Set Remind me if you want a follow-up date after sending. This schedules a reminder; it does not schedule another outgoing email.
- Choose Send and read the confirmation showing the recipient, mailbox and Undo window. Confirm to queue it. During the countdown, choose Undo send if needed and wait for Cancelled · not sent. Use Open lead to return to a cancelled or failed outreach draft.
- If you let sending proceed, wait for Email sent, then check the lead’s email/activity history and follow-up date. Closing the page does not stop the queue. After sending starts, Undo is unavailable. Review any intervening reply before following up.
If sending or drafting fails
A side-chat error does not stop you writing a message yourself. If no mailbox is usable, check sending permissions and SMTP/provider configuration in Settings → Mailboxes. If a send returns an error or loses its connection, inspect the provider’s Sent folder, outgoing queue and lead history before sending again; the absence of a success message is not proof that nothing was sent.
