Deliver a milestone and record client acceptance
Keep daily tasks, delivery, client approval and payment as separate checkpoints.

Before you start
You need client editing permission to update a milestone. Linking tasks also requires task viewing and editing permission. Keep the client’s approval email, call note or document reference available before recording acceptance.
Connect the work and deliver it
- Open the project, then its milestone. Under The work behind this checkpoint, choose a task in Link a project task and choose Link task.
- Complete the daily tasks and check the actual deliverable. Even when all linked tasks are done, the milestone needs its own delivery decision.
- Resolve required earlier checkpoints or prerequisites. Use Mark milestone done once the milestone has been delivered.
Record evidence of approval
- In Client acceptance, select Require a recorded client acceptance if this checkpoint needs approval.
- Once the milestone is delivered, fill Who approved?, Approval date and Approval evidence. Include what was approved and where the evidence can be found.
- Choose Record client acceptance. Check that the name, date and evidence appear. Use Clear incorrect approval if the record is wrong, then record the correct evidence.
What success means
Done tasks mean daily work was completed. A done milestone means internal delivery was recorded. Client acceptance records the client’s approval evidence; GoodCompany does not obtain that approval for you. The associated invoice and its bank payment still need review in Receivables.
If the controls are unavailable
Check client editing access, the milestone status and unresolved prerequisites. Acceptance can only be recorded after delivery. If someone else changed the plan, review its refreshed state before retrying; do not use Skip just to bypass unfinished work.
