Removing a match is different from deleting a record

If a document is linked to the wrong payment, remove or reject that match first. You do not need to delete the entire payment or invoice just to correct its association.

Read the scope in the confirmation

Deleting a statement import can also delete its booked transactions. Review the affected records in the confirmation before proceeding. Use individual record or selected-record deletion where available. Company-wide deletion is a separate owner action in Settings → Members.

Step by step

  1. Identify whether you need to correct a payment link, set an invoice aside for later review, or delete a record.
  2. For the wrong payment/document association, use Remove link or reject the suggestion on the payment or invoice. The source records remain.
  3. Download the accountant package or company archive you need before deleting source records.
  4. For a bill, open it in Bills and choose Delete bill. For several bills, select the intended rows and choose Delete selected. For a statement import, use Delete import in Settings → Accounts.
  5. Read the confirmation: deleting a bill leaves bank transactions but removes their links to that bill. Deleting an import with booked transactions also removes those transactions and their matches.
  6. Confirm only the intended scope, then reopen the relevant list and check the remaining records.

Check the result

After cleanup, inspect the original feature and related records. Permanent deletion actions cannot be undone through the interface.

Permissions and safer alternatives

You need deletion permission for the type of record you are removing. A read-only workspace can block record changes. Set aside is reversible review organization; it is a better fit when you want to review an invoice later. Disconnecting a bank feed keeps imported accounts and transactions, so it is different from deleting an import.

If deletion fails

Read the error and refresh the list to check whether the record still exists before retrying. If the confirmation includes more work than you intended, cancel it. There is no deletion Undo in these flows; reimporting a source is a new import and does not promise restoration of the old links or review history.

Labels use the English interface. Available pages and actions depend on your company, plan and permissions.
