Step by step
- Open Sidekick and click Conversations or Chats to find earlier work.
- Choose a conversation to continue it, or use New chat / New conversation for another topic.
- Use the conversation controls to rename a chat you can manage so it is easy to recognize later.
- Open Share or Sharing and review the audience before changing it.
- Choose private, selected colleagues or everyone as appropriate. Review the whole history before granting access.
- Return to the conversation and check the sharing indicator. Read a colleague’s ongoing work before adding a new request.
Sharing includes the whole history
People you share with can see the conversation history and continue the chat. Replies are visible live, and the assistant knows who is writing. Choose private, selected colleagues or everyone only after checking the existing conversation.
Approval still has an owner
Sharing a conversation does not make every participant the approver of every action. Proposed actions still need approval from the person who asked or a company owner/admin. If a conversation shows a colleague is chatting, take account of their ongoing work.
Check the result
Sharing exposes the conversation history and allows the audience to continue the chat. It does not remove approval ownership for proposed actions.
Shared source access still matters
Sharing a chat does not grant the recipient access to every source used in it. A conversation can become unavailable when the person lacks required source permissions or access to the mailbox or calendar behind the answer. Ask the workspace owner to review the intended access; do not copy private source material into a broader chat as a workaround.
