Check background work and processing
See what is running or queued, and distinguish a busy workspace from a failed job.
Where to goWorkspace → Background AI

Step by step
- Open Background AI from the workspace.
- Read Running now to see work already being processed. Read In the queue separately; queued work has not started yet.
- Find the item related to your upload, mailbox or project and read its status.
- Click Open when it is offered to inspect the original record and any detailed error.
- Use that feature’s retry control if the work failed. Return to Background AI and click Refresh to check the new status.
- Use the Background AI icon in the menu header to inspect activity. On mobile, open More first. Refresh updates the displayed status.
If something failed
Open the relevant import, document, mailbox or project and read its error. Use the retry action in that feature where available. A queued job has not necessarily failed; it may be waiting for earlier work.
Open activity when you need it
Choose the Background AI icon at the top of the workspace menu to inspect current work. On mobile, open More first. Refresh updates the displayed status; it does not restart or cancel work.
Check the result
A retry should be queued or running before it completes. The original feature remains the place to confirm that its output was created.
Recognize completion and recover safely
Check status in the feature that started the work and open its resulting record. A successful queue request is not confirmation that processing finished. Started background jobs can continue after navigation; wait for an upload to finish before closing its page.
If status cannot load, use Refresh to check it again. That control does not restart a failed job or cancel active work. Read the specific feature’s error and retry only the affected work. Repeatedly starting the same job can create extra processing without resolving a connection, file or allowance problem.
